Two men died in a fatal solo collision Friday evening when the vehicle they were traveling in ended up veering off the roadway and colliding with a large tree. The incident took place when the 24-year-old driver of a 1995 Dodge Neon heading eastbound on Highway 12 reportedly missed a curve on the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at high speeds at the time, the CHP said. The vehicle ended up swerving before colliding with a large tree near the roadway. The driver of the vehicle and a 28-year-old passenger died at the scene of the crash. The driver was reportedly not restrained at the time. In a press release, ECHO Inc, in accordance with the standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced the voluntary recall of their Gas Powered Backpack Blowers because of a possible fire hazard that they pose to consumers.
The recall applies to approximately 16,000 of the gas powered blowers and was put into action after the company found that the fuel line between the fuel tank and carburetor could have been damaged at some point in the assembly process, resulting in a potential fuel leak and fire hazard. Two models of the ECHO 2-cycle backpack blowers are included in this recall. The gas powered blowers were sold by Home Depot and authorized ECHO dealers from August 2011 through January 2012. No injuries or incidents of fire have been reported to date, however ECHO is continuing with this recall out of an abundance of caution.
Owners are being asked to stop using the blowers at once and to return them to any authorized ECHO servicing dealer to receive a free inspection and repair.

A woman was killed after colliding head-on against a dump truck, according to the authorities.
The accident occurred when the driver attempted to go back to the road after being rear-ended by a vehicle. Her vehicle’s lights weren’t on and she started driving the wrong way only to drive into the path of an oncoming truck on the westbound lanes of the State Route 520.
