One common mistake that beginners usually make when translating from their native language into French is confusing masculine and feminine nouns. That is why when you learn a noun it is best to memorize the accompanying article.
If we translate an English text into French, the French Translation will be about 30% longer. The vice versa is valid, too. So another mistake which inexperienced translators usually make when translating from French into English is that they use fillers to compensate the imbalance between the length of the French text and the English one. This has an adverse effect on the quality of the translation.
